We’re approaching the start of a new fashion season, and many shoe lovers will be looking to rethink their wardrobe for the warmer months ahead.
Here’s what you need to know about footwear trends for Spring/Summer 2018.
Eighties inspired apparel is big news across the menswear board. For footwear, this means that Penny Loafers will be making big waves. For the most on trend results, pair yours with an all-white ensemble, or even an oversized lounge suit.
Want to get on board with 1980s inspired fashion? These fine snuff suede Sydney Penny Loafers are ideal.
Sleek ankle boots are also set to be popular this spring. Fashion houses such as Berluti, Balmain and Balenciaga all used delicate streamlined ankle boots as part of their S/S 2018 collection. We love this trend as it’s so versatile. You can wear sleek ankle boots with almost anything. We think they work particularly well with slim cut jeans for a smart casual look that will really show them off.
Think this is the footwear look for you? You can’t go wrong in a pair of black leather Simpson Chelsea Boots. For a similar look in brown leather, these Lingfield Chelsea Boots are for you.
One slightly unexpected footwear trend on the Spring/Summer 2018 catwalks were men’s high heeled shoes! Designer Thom Browne went all out on these, with heeled brogues appearing throughout this season’s collection. Though this particular look is probably not going to catch on to mass appeal, it’ll be interesting to see if there is a move towards slightly more heel in men’s footwear.
In the meantime, why not take a look at some of our favourite brogues sans high heel?! The Wingtip Derby Pembroke, the Wingtip Boot Islay and the Oxford Edgware are all excellent examples.
